Getting Started With West Michigan CDL Truck Driving School!

1) Contact West Michigan CDL - Contact us and schedule an appointment to visit one of our career administrators. We will assist you with job placement before you start your training.

2) Michigan Drivers License – Possess a valid Michigan Drivers License.

3) Get A TIP – You will need a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) from your local Secretary of State office. There you will take 3 short tests to get your TIP.

	Study Sections: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 in the online study guide to prepare for the TIP Test.
View the CDL Practice Test. Take the general knowledge, air brakes, combination vehicles practice tests to prepare for the TIP Test.

4) Get A Med Card and Drug Screen – You will need to get a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screen. We can refer you to a local clinic.
